Group Tours

Are you interested in taking a group tour of Carnton? We offer a sizable discount off our regular admission price for groups wishing to visit Carnton. Our rate for parties of 10 or more is just $8 per person. Reservations are required for groups, preferably at least a week in advance. The group tour will include a one hour walk through of the historic house led by a guide who will relate the story of the McGavock family, the Battle of Franklin, and a brief history of the Confederate Cemetery.

You will also receive a brochure/map for a self-guided walking tour of the grounds, which includes the cemetery, the beautifully restored garden, several historic outbuildings, and of course, the battlefield. To cover everything we have to offer, groups should anticipate spending about an hour and a half to two hours on site.

Once you’re done, or even before you get started, feel free to visit our gift shop which contains a large collection of books, including Robert Hicks’ The Widow of the South, and Civil War artifacts and other memorabilia.
