Ghost Tour

Historic Carnton Plantation has been called “the most haunted building in Tennessee,” and visitors can decide for themselves if it's true on guided evening tours of the house.

Costumed guides will lead visitors through the house by candlelight, recounting the tale of the weeping maiden, the general on the porch and the noisy kitchen ghost, among others. After the house tour, we will venture out to the cemetery.

Be sure to stick around to view the pictures we've collected of unexplained phenomena. Michelle Place, on staff guide, will lead the tours.

Cost is $20 per person and the tour lasts 90 to 120 minutes. No one under the age of 7, please.
To make your reservation, call Eric at 615-794-0903. Do you have a group of twenty or more? How about a ghost tour for an additional holiday event? We will schedule a tour at your convenience. We are very flexible and accommodating----just call!

Now, see the story of Carnton recounted in a docudrama, Southern Haunts.
A historical show with a supernatural twist, the show has aired on many PBS stations. Other stories include the Bell Witch, the Octagon House and Falcon Manor. A DVD of episodes 1 and 2 is available for $19.95 plus tax and shipping through the Carnton bookstore. Call Eric or e-mail him at Eric@carnton.org for more information.
